Connects Hardal to Google Analytics 4 via the Measurement Protocol. Server-side data reaches GA4 even when browser-side tracking is blocked. Category: Analytics

Prerequisites

  • A GA4 Measurement ID — GA4 Admin → Data Streams → your stream (format: G-XXXXXXXXXX)
  • A GA4 API Secret — GA4 Admin → Data Streams → your stream → Measurement Protocol API secrets → Create

Setup

Add the destination

Destinations → + Add → Google Analytics 4 (Analytics category).

Enter credentials

  • Measurement ID — e.g., G-XXXXXXXXXX
  • API Secret — Measurement Protocol API secret

Connect and activate

Click Connect, then ⚙️ → Activate. Consent Mode is off by default for Analytics destinations — toggle it on in Advanced if your region requires it.
All standard events are forwarded automatically once active.

Verify delivery

Check Recent Activity for the GA4 icon with “Success” status.
