Metrics Glossary
Plain-language definitions for the metrics shown in the Hardal Dashboard.
Use this glossary alongside Overview, Acquisition, Engagement, Commerce, and AI Visibility. Funnel step results are explained in the Funnels guide.
Core metrics
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Consented Visitors | Distinct non-empty visitor IDs seen in the selected period. |
| Sessions | Distinct non-empty session IDs, including anonymous sessions. A session ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. |
| Page Views | Events whose name is page_view. |
| Bounce Rate | Sessions with exactly one page_view divided by all sessions, regardless of other event types in those sessions. |
| Consent Rate | Distinct sessions with a non-empty visitor ID divided by all distinct sessions. |
| Session Duration | Median session duration, excluding sessions shorter than five seconds. It is not an average. |
Consent Rate uses visitor identity on session events, not the number of consent signals received.
Overview compares scorecards with the preceding period of the same length, except for Today, which hides comparison deltas.

| Live Sessions | Distinct non-empty session IDs in the trailing 30 minutes. |
