Send Hardal analytics data to TikTok Events API using server-side Google Tag Manager for enhanced conversion tracking and improved ad performance. For first-party data collection, consider using the TikTok Events API Gateway with custom domain support.

Create TikTok Pixel

  1. Go to TikTok Ads Manager → Tools → Events
  2. Click “Setup Web Events”
  3. Select “Events API” implementation method
  4. Choose “Google Tag Manager Server-side”
  5. Save your Pixel ID

Get API Credentials

  1. In TikTok Events Manager, go to your pixel Settings
  2. Copy your Pixel ID
  3. Generate and copy Access Token

Install TikTok Template

  1. In server container, go to Tags → New
  2. Search Community Template Gallery for “TikTok Events API (Official)”
  3. Add to workspace

Configure TikTok Tag

  1. Enter your Pixel ID and Access Token
  2. Select event type (ViewContent, AddToCart, Purchase, etc.)
  3. Configure advanced matching with email/phone variables
  4. Set up e-commerce data from GA4 or custom variables
  5. Enable event deduplication if using both Pixel and Events API

Create Event Triggers

Set up triggers for TikTok events:
  • ViewContent → view_item
  • AddToCart → add_to_cart
  • InitiateCheckout → begin_checkout
  • Purchase → purchase
  • CompleteRegistration → sign_up

Test Implementation

  1. Enable Preview mode in both containers
  2. Trigger conversion events on your website
  3. Verify TikTok Events API tag fires successfully
  4. Check TikTok Events Manager for event delivery
