Create TikTok Pixel
- Go to TikTok Ads Manager → Tools → Events
- Click "Setup Web Events"
- Select "Events API" implementation method
- Choose "Google Tag Manager Server-side"
- Save your Pixel ID
Get API Credentials
- In TikTok Events Manager, go to your pixel Settings
- Copy your Pixel ID
- Generate and copy Access Token
Install TikTok Template
- In server container, go to Tags → New
- Search Community Template Gallery for "TikTok Events API (Official)"
- Add to workspace
Configure TikTok Tag
- Enter your Pixel ID and Access Token
- Select event type (ViewContent, AddToCart, Purchase, etc.)
- Configure advanced matching with email/phone variables
- Set up e-commerce data from GA4 or custom variables
- Enable event deduplication if using both Pixel and Events API
Create Event Triggers
Set up triggers for TikTok events:
- ViewContent → view_item
- AddToCart → add_to_cart
- InitiateCheckout → begin_checkout
- Purchase → purchase
- CompleteRegistration → sign_up
Test Implementation
- Enable Preview mode in both containers
- Trigger conversion events on your website
- Verify TikTok Events API tag fires successfully
- Check TikTok Events Manager for event delivery
