Set Up Your First-Party URL
Configure and verify a CNAME for Hardal's first-party collection URL before installing a source.
Why the first-party URL comes first
Do this before you install anything. Your first-party URL is where all events are sent, and the install snippet is built around it.
Find your CNAME values
In the Dashboard, open Setup. You'll see the active first-party domain and the CNAME guidance for your installation.
Add the record at your DNS provider
Create a CNAME pointing your subdomain (for example analytics.yourdomain.com) to analytics.usehardal.com. Use the exact target shown in the Dashboard.
Verify DNS
Use Verify DNS in the Dashboard. If it's still propagating, wait a few minutes and try again. Some providers take up to 48 hours.
Continue to install
Once it verifies, copy the generated web script or use your first-party URL as the /collect endpoint for mobile and API events.
Not ready to change DNS yet? You can skip this on the Onboarding page and add it later. When you do, you'll need to update and redeploy your installation.
